Operation: Breaking Ground
In the heart of Santa Cruz, amidst the dense, unforgiving jungle of La Traversía del Bosque, a deadly dance of power and survival unfolded.
It began with a whisper—a military coup that tore through the fabric of the country, leaving Gonzalo Fernandez perched atop the newly established regime. The coup, orchestrated under the guise of anti-terrorism, unleashed a wave of violence. Suspected leftists, intellectuals, and artists were marked for death, their voices silenced under the boots of the military.
But defiance lingered in the air, refusing to be snuffed out. Groups of survivors pushed to the brink, retreated deep into the jungle. Among them, small bands coalesced into guerrilla units, forming a ragged resistance known as "Mano del Pais."
On the opposite end stood the government's enforcement arm—the Unidad Anti-Terrorista (UAT). Once hailed as liberators, they now patrolled with an iron fist, their actions steeped in brutality. Across the clandestine routes of La Traversía, another faction emerged—the enigmatic La Casita Verde (CV). This organized militia sought to seize power, leveraging the chaos to carve their place in the shifting landscape.
Amidst this turmoil, a shadowy figure arrived—the Other Government Agency (OGA). Draped in ambiguity, they brokered deals in the shadows, trading, guns, drugs, and weapons for influence. Their arrival tipped the scales, turning the jungle into a battleground of ideologies and greed.
The pivotal moment arrived on a sweltering July day. UAT, emboldened by their authority, intercepted a convoy intended for Mano del Pais. Yet, before they could secure their prize, gunfire erupted from the foliage. La Casita Verde, swift and silent, launched a retaliatory strike, catching the UAT off-guard.
What ensued was a ballet of chaos—a firefight that echoed through the trees, the air thick with smoke and the stench of blood. UAT and La Casita clashed ferociously, each fighting not just for supplies, but for dominance over La Traversía.
As the battle raged, the OGA operatives watched from the periphery, calculating their next move. They sought profit amidst the carnage, their loyalties fluid, dangling the promise of missiles to the faction that could secure their favor.
The sun dipped low, casting long shadows over the jungle. Exhausted and bloodied, both UAT and La Casita withdrew, nursing their wounds and tallying their losses. In the aftermath, the jungle fell silent, yet the tension lingered—a fragile peace, shattered by the crackle of gunfire.
In the days that followed, UAT and La Casita prepared to reclaim the contested ground, driven by pride and necessity. Meanwhile, the OGA operatives conferred in their secure quarters, deliberating over which faction would best serve their inscrutable interests.
The story of La Traversía del Bosque had only just begun—a tale woven in shadows and strife, where alliances were fleeting and survival meant navigating treacherous paths. And amidst it all, the jungle stood sentinel, its secrets buried deep beneath the canopy, whispering of battles yet to come.
